A good watch game for a child is simple, short and safe to leave running. Every game below is rated 4+ on the App Store, has a real watch app and costs nothing to download. We checked each listing in November 2026 and say which ones show ads and which have in-app purchases, so you know where to turn on Ask to Buy.

The 7 games
1. Belly
A pixel cat that lives on the watch. Kids feed it, play with it, dress it up and play its mini-games, and their steps from Apple Health keep the cat happy. It runs on the watch alone, with no iPhone needed and no ads.
For parents: The optional purchases are cosmetic coin packs; coins also come from walking and playing. Turn on Ask to Buy if you want to approve any purchase.
2. Bird Watch Game
Tap to stack ice blocks, build up speed and launch the bird into the air without bumping into walls. Easy to pick up.
For parents: Short, simple rounds that suit younger kids.
3. Watch Soccer: Dribble King
Dribble the ball past defenders and score. Each run is short. Updated in August 2026.
For parents: One simple idea, so it is easy to explain to a younger child.
4. Ice Hockey
Skate without leaving the rink, bump opponents for gold and beat the goalkeeper to score. Updated in March 2026.
For parents: Quick rounds; a good pick alongside Watch Soccer.
5. Billiard Wear
Top-down pool: turn the Digital Crown to aim and tap to shoot. Updated in September 2026.
For parents: Aiming with the crown takes a few tries, so it suits older kids best.
6. 3 Puzzle Games
Sudoku, connect-the-dots and slide-the-block puzzles in one app, with hundreds of levels.
For parents: Connect-the-dots is the easiest of the three for younger kids; sudoku is for older ones.
7. 2048 :)
Swipe to slide tiles and merge matching numbers. A gentle way to practise doubling.
For parents: The App Store lists in-app purchases, so Ask to Buy is worth turning on.
Tips for parents
- Check the age rating. Every App Store listing shows one; all the games here are rated 4+.
- Turn on Ask to Buy. In Family Sharing, it makes your child ask before buying or downloading anything.
- No iPhone? Use Apple Watch For Your Kids. Formerly Family Setup, it lets you set up and manage your child's cellular watch from your own iPhone, where Apple offers it.
- Use Schooltime. It limits the watch during school hours.
How we checked
Each game is rated 4+ and free to download on the US App Store, has a watch app, and was checked on its listing in October 2026, along with what the listing says about in-app purchases and ads. We left out games rated above 4+, games that cost money upfront, and apps that are not games. Every game except Belly shows the listing label "Contains Advertising".
